About
My Background
I'm 17 years old and as a senior, in high school, I'm exploring my skills and expanding my knowledge with every opportunity that approaches my path. Being involved in different classes and programs has given me the chance to better my life skills and personal skills as well. I hope to be a Speech Pathologist when I'm older and be able to help people who need it most. My goal, for now, is to attend college and get my masters in the future. Hopefully, in the future, I can improve certain skills like communication, and strengthen my Spanish. I'm an easy learner and dedicated myself to work, my work has paid off so much that I was accepted into the National Honor Society. I consider myself to be very diligent and hardworking. My Experience
Background & Expertise
Intern for NYC Audobon
I was working for NYC Audobon on Governors Island to educate and welcome in the guest that didn't know what NYC Audobon was about and what they do. New York City Audobon does events all over New York and host festivals and events to bring awareness to the different species of birds that New York is filled with. They mainly speak about the possible dangers these creatures may face living in such an industrialized area.
Geospatial Systems Intern
In the Urban Assembly New York Harbor school I take Geographic Information Systems classes (GIS). I had the opportunity through my school to take classes at Bronx Community College to create complex maps besides the ones I was taking in school and develop my knowledge of GIS. I created maps and learned how to use different computer programs to make a well-developed map that could be read properly. I collected data and used that information to develop my map and organize it. Through this internship, I was able to teach others, improve and better my skill using ArcMap and Geospatial maps.
Debater/Trainer
In 2015 I joined a debate team and was able to go all over New York City and debate against students about real-world problems. We debated in the NYC Debate League but my team and I did such a good job that we went to Nationals in Dallas, Texas. In Nationals we weren't only debating against New Yorkers but this time it was people across America. Being a part of this team benefited my public speaking skills and bettered my communication skills. Eventually, I aged out of the team but had the opportunity to help out the new debaters and teach them how to better their writing and public speaking skills.
Tutor
When I first entered high school I started tutoring a little kid that had ADHD. I helped him grasp 3rd grade Math and English. He had trouble focusing so it was a new experience for me to deal with a kid that didn't learn like others.
Babysitter
I take care of a 3 year old and a 1 year old mostly after school but sometimes on weekends. I take care of them till the next day if their mother needs me. The three year old just started school but I teach him Spanish and English because in school he learns French.
Attending Marine Biology 2017 and 2018 Symposium
I am apart of the Marine Biology program in the Urban Assembly New York Harbor so I was able to attend the symposium. I won second place and was able to present my maps to people overseas.

What I’ve Learned
Urban Assembly New York Harbor School
September 2015 - June 2019
I am currently a senior in the Urban Assembly New York Harbor school. I attend Marine Biology classes as well as Geospatial Information Systems classes. Although in 2019 I will graduate with a High school diploma I will graduate with the knowledge and skills that have come along because of Marine Biology. My school pushes for cleaner waterways and emphasizes how important how vital the ocean is to human life, they teach us pH, salinity, the difference between low tide and high tide and much more. In Marine Biology I'm able to use different tools to tell me different things about aquatic systems that we build ourselves. The different programs that my school offers give us a rare kind of knowledge that no other public school offers. Being on Governors Island allows me to have a better understanding of our harbor and being a harbor school student gives me rare skills that I can use in my future life.

Where Can A Biodiesel Fuel Company "Strike" Oil?
Biodiesel is a fuel alternative that is made from renewable resources, they are moving into Tempe, Arizona in hopes that they can make fuel out of nearby food waste. They want a map to see how far out they are from restaurants that will be providing them with food waste.
How can Geospatial Technology be Beneficial to Conservation Biology?
Developers have been contracted to build a lodge in Chatham County, North Carolina. Bald eagles were sighted numerous times in this area. The developers need a map to know where Bald eagles were spotted out the most to see if its safe to build the lodge while conserving these endangered birds.
What is BioMass Potential?
Biomass comes from living organisms like plants and trees that are found in the environment. Using geospatial technology a map is created to see if there is biomass potential in the given territory.
